Hoboken Junior Senior High School made history today, competing in the first ever Girls High School Lacrosse game in Hudson County. The junior varsity contest was held at 1600 Park Ave. in Hoboken against Tenafly High School.
The Tigers of Tenafly were victorious, winning by a score of 15-8. The Lady Redwings remain undeterred however, ready to set the bar high for their unprecedented program. HJSHS Athletic Director Derek England said of the contest, “I am so proud of our girls! What amazing effort for their first time out. There is so much potential, and I am excited to see what the future has in store for the Lady Redwing lacrosse program.”
He went on to say “I’d like to thank these young ladies, their coaches, our administration and board, and everyone else who supported this endeavor…”
Come support the Lady Redwings at their next game on April 15, against Fair Lawn High School.
