Redwings News · Hoboken Wrestling Weekend

Hoboken Wrestling has completed its first Hudson County Dual Tournament.  Individually the wrestlers had a great showing. Junior Anthony Henriquez went 3-0 on Saturday and 5-0 over the entire Weekend.  He finished the Regular season 10-0 and is the first Hoboken wrestler to finish the regular season undefeated.  He pinned the St. Peters wrestler in 18 seconds, pinned the Secaucus wrestler in 23 seconds, and pinned the returning 3rd place district winner from Weehawken in the 2nd period.

As for the other impressive wrestlers on the team. Senior James Davis went 3-2 over the weekend.  He finished the regular season at 8-3.  Senior Savion Huggins just returned and he finished the regular season at 2-3 with him picking up his first wins this weekend.  Sophomore Twins Chris and Rocco Riccardi had another strong showing this weekend. Both of them finished the season at 4-8 and 4-6 respectively.  As a majority of those wins came at the end of the season showing they got better as the season went on.

Next up is districts in Randolph on February 22nd.  The top 3 place winners advance to Regions.  And the top 4 wrestlers from Regions head down to Atlantic City for States.

Hoboken wrestling will continue to grow and will look to build upon their success for years to come.  Win the Day.
