Educational background and rehabilitation philosophy:
Gerard Friedman is a Certified Athletic Trainer with a Master’s Degree in Exercise Science and Rehabilitation. Gerard specializes in orthopedic injury care and rehabilitation and forms his thought processes based off of knowledge in anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, myokinematics and science derived from the Postural Restoration Institute (PRI). Gerard uses a combination of physical therapy and functional strength and conditioning to form rehabilitation programs aimed at returning injured Hoboken athletes to their sport with confidence and ability. He utilizes PRI orthopedic evaluation, the Functional Movement Screen (FMS) and Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) to determine injury improvement, exercise progression and safety of return to participation.
Gerard has many years of experience working at the high school and college level. He has also gained valuable experience interning at the professional level with the New York Jets and New York Football Giants. In addition to athletic training, Gerard works part time as a personal trainer and is the co-owner of a personal training studio in Brooklyn, NY.
