Hoboken Redwings Can’t Catch Up To Kearny

Hoboken Redwings watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 6-4 loss to Kearny on Friday. Kearny scored on a double by C Serrano in the first inning, a single by T M’Andrew in the second inning, a error in the second inning, and a double by J Sanchez in the second inning.

Hoboken Redwings lost despite out-hitting Kearny 12 to 9.

Kearny opened up scoring in the first inning, when Serrano doubled on a 3-0 count, scoring two runs.

Kearny scored three runs in the second inning. Kearny’s big inning was driven by a single by M’Andrew, an error on a ball put in play by T Witt, and a double by Sanchez.

Sanchez earned the win for Kearny. He surrendered four runs on 12 hits over six and two-thirds innings, striking out three. J McChesacy threw one-third of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Yugal Pattni took the loss for Hoboken Redwings. He went six innings, allowing seven runs on nine hits and striking out four.

Hoboken Redwings tallied 12 hits on the day. Pattni, Aram Assadourian, CJ Smith, and Victor Martinez each collected multiple hits for Hoboken Redwings. Martinez, Smith, Assadourian, and Pattni each collected two hits to lead Hoboken Redwings.

Kearny racked up nine hits in the game. Sanchez, Witt, and Serrano all managed multiple hits for Kearny.
