Hoboken Redwings watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in an 8-1 loss to Kearny on Saturday. Kearny scored on a double by T Witt, a single by J Erazuma, and a double by C Serrano in the first inning.
The Hoboken Redwings struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Kearny, giving up eight runs.
In the first inning, Kearny got their offense started. Witt drove in one when he doubled.
Kearny scored four runs in the fifth inning. J Sanchez and Serrano all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
D Duran was the winning pitcher for Kearny. He allowed four hits and one run over seven innings, striking out two.
Aram Assadourian took the loss for Hoboken Redwings. He surrendered eight runs on nine hits over six innings, striking out one.
CJ Smith, Assadourian, Michael Effinger, and Yugal Pattni each collected one hit to lead Hoboken Redwings. Hoboken Redwings didn’t commit a single error in the field. Daniel Burrell had nine chances in the field, the most on the team.
