The Hoboken Boys Soccer team was extremely impressive in its opening game of the 2018 season. The Redwings came out aggressively and played hard throughout despite the extremely hot temperatures to secure a 3-1 road win in Secaucus. New Head Coach Nico Percontino, son of former coach Mateo Percontino picked up where his dad left off, having the Redwings playing an attacking and fundamentally sound style of play. Eli Conklin, Andrew Paredes anchored the defense and played brilliantly in front of goalie Jacob Jarrett who tallied 8 impressive saves. Hoboken scored the first 3 goals, the first by Ewan Sanchez on a beautiful assist from Danny Henson. The next 2 goals came with less than 5 minutes remaining in the half. Danny Henson scored And then Henry Anderson finished the scoring for Hoboken off an assist from Joey Sobolov. Hoboken was able to wear down the Patriots in the 2nd half, allowing only one goal to secure the win
