The Redwings Track & Field team competed in the HCTCA Relay Carnival this past Saturday at Kearny High School.
Starting off on the girls side, the 4×200 relay team consisting of Cheyenne Langhorne, Katelin McLaughlin, Aurora Foberg and Mikayla Maxwell placed 8th overall running 2:02. In the 1600m Spring Medley Relay event, the same relay team placed 2nd overall with a time of 5:06. Maxwell ran her 200m split in 29.5s to place her relay team in second place with one leg (800m) left to go. Foberg maintained the team’s position on her entire 800m split.
Heading over to the boys side, their first event of the day was the 4×100 relay event. The relay team consisting of Henry Andino, Phillip Meikle, Savion Huggins, and Davion Delgado finished 9th overall (50.03s). The boys(Andino, Meikle, Huggins, Micah Rodriguez) also finished 9th overall in the 4×200 relay event with a time of 1:45. In their final running event of the day, the 800m Super Sprint Medley Relay (100-100-200-400), the boys (Meikle, Delgado, Rodriguez, Andino) finished 8th overall with a time of 1:48.
For the field events starting off with the Shot Put, Angel Quinones threw a season best 31ft-3.5in, while Kwan Meggett threw a personal best 27ft-3.5in. In the Discus event, Quinones threw a personal best 53ft-8in, while Meggett also threw a personal best at 53ft-6in.
In the Javelin event, Quinones threw a personal best 78ft-11in, while Meggett threw 55ft-7in.
Next up the Redwings will compete in the Paul Beck Relays at Millburn, NJ on Saturday, April 28th, 2018.
