6-Hit Day For Mixson Leads Hoboken Softball Past Snyder

Six hits from Nyasia Mixson helped lead the way for Hoboken over Snyder 23-16 on Wednesday. Mixson singled in the first, doubled in the second, singled in the third, singled in the third, singled in the fifth, and singled in the seventh.

The base paths were crowded in this high-scoring game. Hoboken collected 27 hits and Snyder had nine.

Hoboken Softball 2018 took the lead for good with nine runs in the third inning. In the third Mixson singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run, Zoe Mattessich reached on a dropped third strike, Aniya Walker singled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs, Faith Effinger singled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs, Bianca Figueroa singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Mixson singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, and Mattessich singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

Hoboken launched two home runs on the day. Viton went deep in the sixth inning. Aiyana Peoples had a homer in the second inning.

Hoboken had 27 hits in the game. Mixson, Viton, Mattessich, Walker, Peoples, and Effinger each had multiple hits for Hoboken. Mixson went 6-for-7 at the plate to lead Hoboken Softball 2018 in hits. Mattessich led Hoboken Softball 2018 with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with seven stolen bases.
