Championship Season has begun, with the North Hudson Championships starting off the festivities.
Starting of on the boys side, Angel Quinones claimed this year’s North Hudson shot put crown, placing 1st overall with a throw of 39ft-1.5in. Quinones also placed 6th overall in the discus with a throw of 87ft-7in. Christopher Figueroa placed 4th overall in the freshman shot put event, throwing 25ft-8in.
Ty Wholf completed the freshman boys 200m/400m double, claiming this year’s freshman title in both events. Wholf recorded a personal record in both events(24.5 200m, 56.4 400m).
On the girls side, Rea Silver-Chisholm placed 4th overall in the shot put, throwing 25ft-8in. Silver-Chisholm also placed 6th overall in the discus, throwing 68ft-2in.
Karilynn Jimenez(Fr) completed the freshman/sophomore girls 200m/400m double, claiming this years freshman/sophomore girls title in both events. Jimenez ran a personal record in the 200m(28.5) and an 67.4 in the 400m.
Hudson County Championships is next up for the Redwings on Thursday, May 16th and Saturday, May 18th.
