The Redwings competed at the Hudson County Relays being held at Lincoln Park in Jersey City.
The Redwings, in the boys division, scored all 5 of their points in the field events. In the discus event, the relay team consisting of Ali Mendoza (90-01) and Ezire King (70-05) placed 4th overall ( 4 points) with a total distance of 160ft-06in. Mendoza (86ft-0) and King(65ft-03in) also placed 6th overall in the javelin relay(1 point), with a combined distance of 151ft-03in. In the shot put relay event, King (24ft-2.5in) and Deshawn Pickett (20ft-1.5in) placed 7th overall with a combined distance of 44ft-4in.
In the running events on the boys side, the Redwings (Alfredo Gonzalez, Davion Delgado, Andrew Wholf, Sebastian Baldisseri) placed 9th overall in the 4×100 relay event with a time of 50.51. In the 4×200 relay event, the boys (Andrew Wholf, Ty Wholf, Nadir Orsini, Deshawn Pickett) placed 7th overall with a time of 1:44.
The Lady Redwings team did not compete at this meet.
St. Peters Prep won the boys relay championship with a final total of 130 points, 71 points more than the runner-up, Union City.
St. Dominic Academy narrowly won the girls relay championship, scoring 86 total points; 2 more points than the 1st runners-up, North Bergen, and 5 more points than the 2nd runner-up, Snyder.
The Redwings will next compete at the Twins Boro Relays on Saturday, April 27th.
